Could your maths skills do with a boost? Does the idea of learning maths fill you with dread? If so, we can help you overcome some of the barriers you may have and boost your confidence and skills.
We know that having better maths skills can be life changing; it can improve your job prospects, give you more confidence at work and at home including tackling budgets and finance that is so important right now. In addition, it can also help you progress to your longer-term career goals.
Our free online maths course is a perfect stepping stone for you towards your future success. It is designed for you to take smaller steps towards your Level 2 Functional Skills qualification which is the equivalent of a GCSE. You will learn at a pace that is suitable for you and sit your end test when you are ready. It is likely to take 6–9 months to get you where you want to be, and you will access part-time online learning as well as doing some work in your own time.
If you come onto our maths course today, you will be able to gain access to a nationally accredited qualification recognized and respected by employers, colleges, and some universities.
What will you learn?
This course is to help you boost your everyday maths skills, for example being more confident with budgeting at home, finding the best deal which you can then transfer into your working life. You will learn:
- Number confidence
- Statistics
- Fractions
- Percentages
- Decimals
- Problem Solving
- Graphs and data.
Assessment Method
You will take 2 tests, one with a calculator and one without.
Progression
Entry requirement for further or higher education.
Eligibility Criteria
- Currently live in England
- Resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study
- Must be aged 19+
- Must not be on an apprenticeship
