It is designed for you to take smaller steps towards your Level 2 Functional Skills qualification which is the equivalent of a GCSE.
You will learn at a pace that is suitable for you and sit your end tests when you are ready. You will access part-time online learning as well as doing some work in your own time.If you come onto our English course today, you will be able to gain access to a nationally accredited qualification recognized and respected by employers, colleges, and some universities.
What will you learn?
This course will help you boost your everyday English skills, for example being more confident with report writing, completing complex form and speaking up for yourself. You will learn:
- To identify use and understand key details, arguments or information
- Use appropriate spelling, punctuation and grammar
- Use different texts for different meaning
- Communicate ideas clearly
- Use language effectively.
Assessment Method
You will take a test for each component: Speaking and Listening, Reading and Writing.

Entry requirement for further or higher education.
Eligibility Criteria
- Currently live in England
- Resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study
- Must be aged 19+
- Must not be on an apprenticeship
